Fighting for Healthcare and Homeowners

About Me

I am a father of three and a grandfather of three (so far!), living in Whitefish.  I am fortunate to have my kids, their spouses, and my grandkids all living nearby in western Montana.  It has been especially nice to all be close by since the passing of their mother, grandmother, my wife of 43 years, last October after her battle with pancreatic cancer.

I grew up mostly in the Midwest until high school in Arizona.  I have a BS degree in Finance from the Ohio State University and an MBA with a focus on Finance from the University of Denver.  I retired in 2021 after a 40-year career that started in the oilfields of Wyoming and took me to Chief Financial Officer of a couple large international businesses.  My final stint before retirement was as CFO of a timber products manufacturer in Columbia Falls.

After spending time in Montana for nearly a decade, I moved to Whitefish full time in 2014. In addition to enjoying the world class activities this area has to offer – including hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, rafting, golf - I spend time giving back to my community.  I am involved in local issues in Whitefish, volunteer with Wild Montana, and have taught business seminars through various county and tribal organizations throughout NW Montana.

In 2022 I ran for Public Service Commission, District 5.  I had hoped to bring my expertise in financial analysis to utility rate regulation in Montana, but did not win.

I am now running for Montana State Auditor hoping to bring my professional expertise and community spirit to the regulation of insurance and securities on behalf of all Montanans.  Montana needs a State Auditor who will advocate for the consumer, and I am the only candidate for the office who can be trusted to do that.
